Locked 1950-10-1 Mail and Express Cars out of Washington in ONE day

George Eichelberger

For anyone interested in Express and mail services on Southern passenger trains, this memo from Harry DeButts to Ernest Norris may be interesting.

I have mentioned how reduction in passenger schedules in the 1960s, and the railroad wanting to maintain mail and express revenues was a force in the development of intermodal equipment and trains. (Yet another story to be researched, written about and published by someone.)
