locked Work Trains on Southern's Appalachia Division

Anyone have any knowledge whether a Southern ballast or weed spray train, or even a wreck train would have worked out of Bristol, Intermont Yard or Bulls Gap in the early 1950's?  Even if it would have come up from John Sevier Yard as a long shot?  I believe Bristol was the Division Point office during say 1950 to 1955.  Still Intermont Yard, outside Appalachia, would have been closer to most action.  Bulls Gap the entry point for trains from John Sevier.
