Re: Southern 1380
According to the Paul Parrish steam retirements note book in the SRHA archives, 1380 was scrapped/moved to be scrapped 3-29-53 (his written "3" could be a "7" but probably not). The book also includes

Re: Southern 1380
That photo of SOU Ps4 1380 was not made in a scrap yard or in process of scrapping. It was made sitting on the lead now used by NCTM at Spencer NC. It is right in front of the still-extant paint shop

You are right, I don’t know if that’s when it was being scrapped or not because it says junk yard but Spencer shops also had air of stuff laying around when they overhauled engines so I really

Re: Southern 1380
Will,
If you do a search on Ebay for "Southern Tennessean" you'll find a photo of the 1380 sitting still intact supposedly waiting to be scrapped. Not sure if the photo was taken in Spencer or not.

Southern 1380
I heard stories on how 1380 was moved into the Spencer roundhouse in 1953 and left. Apparently the workers sort of hid it from management. Once the managers saw it they ordered it scrapped. Course

Re: Southern 542
In the SRHA digital files….
The 2-10-49 photo caption of (A&Y) 542 says “just in from Sanford, NC”. Other photos at Pomona (9-13-53 show it lettered “C&NW” for the State Fair.

"Outside Swing Hanger Six Wheel Trucks"
I’ve mentioned them enough, here a photo of the first of the two Outside Swing Hanger Six Wheel Trucks TVRM acquired to put under Southern Office Car 21.
They are the same style that Southern used

As you may be aware, TVRM is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. In my opinion (I’m not an officer, only a member, certainly not speaking for the museum) it is the finest operating

If anyone has Southern items, such as bells, whistles, headlights station signs, etc., you might consider donating them to SRHA or TVRM to be used in the TVRM Exhibit building displays.

In the game Kitbashing is using different model parts to make an engine basically exactly like how you with a real model.
