Re: 4-8-2's in freight service
Would love to see a black Ts with passenger lettering if possible? I don't have an answer to why Southern used the Ts in freight service. But I know they B&O used Mountain types in the midwest

4-8-2's in freight service
At the very end of steam on Southern, several Ts and Ts-1 4-8-2's were assigned to Chattanooga-Atlanta-Macon freight sevice. Several, if not all, were equipped with 14,000 gallon tenders from retired

Re: SOUTHERN ALCo RS-11 # 11 Decals
Not sure how well this quest has gone, but if stencil diagrams are freely available, I don't mind drawing everything needed to create an accurate decal sheet in multiple scales for this

Re: More SOU SD40-2 Questions
Thanks Scott! Never really considered that diesel locomotives tried to keep the dust out of the electrical cabinets, but that makes a lot of sense.

Thank you. I'll contact them.
You told me that SR took the 45xx locomotives in and out of Indiana via the Monon at French Lick. Were they dead-in-train thru Burton Tunnel?

Re: SOUTHERN ALCo RS-11 # 11 Decals
I honestly don't know since I am not as Southern-savvy as I should be. (I have focused on modeling SAL most of my life.)
Also... these decals will need to be S scale, so I feel sure I will have to

The sets available on ebay in N, HO, and O will work for all C&N-W Alcos. The "Railroad Roman" set is for RS-2's #1-4 and the "Arial" set handles the RS-3's and RS-11. (not quite sure of the font

SOUTHERN ALCo RS-11 # 11 Decals
Are any decal sets available (in any scale) that are appropriate for doing SOU's lone ALCo RS-11 # 11?
If not, where can I get the correct art work to have decals for this unit

Jim,
Is the enclosed attachments what you are looking for? These scans are from a Knoxville Div. Sept. 1942 wheel report that I have in my collection.

Sounds like a Conductor's Train Book.

I understand the TRRA Historical Society did a deep dive on SOU operations into St. Louis some years ago. You might want to see if they have the issue that featured SOU.
