Need SOU/R&D engine photo
I’m researching the “big” engine that Southern operated on the Asheville & Craggy Mtn RR where I volunteer. The entire branch still exists; we run that last 3.5 miles and NS switches 1 customer

Consist would probably have been in divisional records, AGS and NO&NE, and are long gone.

I put this on the Passenger Consist group earlier. Thought I might put it here as well. Any records showing what equipment was used for this train?

Railroad Magazine in the 30's or 40's had a story about the division. Yes, it was a separate division based in Bryson City (I assume the depot there is still the same?) - the DS up and down a few

Hello Jim and ALCON
I have Southern passenger service timetables back to the 1890s.
In a 1950 Southern passenger timetable there is freight service only to Murphy NC. No Murphy division is listed.

Jack:
Per my earlier post, a complete train would cost about $1,200. Bill Harris at Classic Trains & Ferraris in Paducah, (270) 994-2555, has one or two sets (?) available.
Ike
PS None of the cars on
