Ike, A friend of mine in Atlanta sent me this copy. I thought it would be interesting to the rest of our membership so I’m forwarding it to you. There are some very good photos in it. Enjoy! Ed Lockli

Ike, I’ve certainly enjoyed reading all (or most) of the Southern Rwy’s historic letters and documents that you’ve posted. Keep up the good work. Ed Locklin at mp367.

Sleeping Var Passengers out of Washington week of Jan 7, 1915
Ike, Could World War 1 have had any affect on ridership? WW1 took place from early 1914 towards the end of 1918 which cover these notices on ridership. My two cents. Ed Locklin at mp367.

Ike, The attachement to this letter might be what you’re looking for. It’s a drawing of the Budd-built dining cars # 3305-3312. I couldn’t find one for the single ordered #3869. Ed Locklin at mp367.

Southern P-S 40' box car 262054
Ike, That strange car you’re talking about looks like two cars. One on the near track is a bulkhead flat and the one beyond is a gondola. I might be wrong but that’s what it looks like to me. Ed Lockl

Ike, I’ve attached a photo I took in May of 1996. I just don’t remember where I took it. I was living in Charlotte at the time and somewhat likely that’s where I was. Anyway, it shows the ‘wood chip l

MIke, I wonder why they didn’t return this locomotive back to the basement of the Cyclorama building in Grant Park. Ed Locklin at mp367.

Speeder setouts
Yes, I agree. In fact, I’ve been thinking this discussion could easily lead up to a terrific article for ‘Ties’ magazine. It seems so little is written about MW. It just seems to beg for more. Thanks
